Let Planning Begin

Hello All!

This blog has been created as a means for us to communicate and share ideas about the event without being discovered. I plan to post pics here of ideas.

Initially we were interested in doing something in her favorite colors. Although we had the information it was still very vague. So, I vote to scratch that idea and go with a colorful array. I have seen her wear turquise and I think it looks great on her. We could us blue as the base(tablecloth) and add other colors. My only concern with that is this will be during winter so it may be challenging to find those colors. On the plus, if we are going with a beautiful array of colors we should be able to get them fairly cheap. Of course I love the color scheme of black, purple and silver. I think HOT pink, black, white and lime green go beatifully together as well. Since it is her 50th, we could do a color scheme of Navy, Gold and Color that really pops.

Sidney, we all talked abou using the church before but decided against it with all it's restrictions. We want this to be Formal or Semi-Formal and want to cater to Auntie Brenda's character. With that being said, we want to do a fashion show of all the nieces and Chaz. We would also like to do a red carpet entrance for the Auntie's and Uncles. I would like for you to get some of your Church friends to serve at this event if possible. Let them know this will be a donation of services for Auntie Brenda and is NOT a paid gig.

As far as music is concerned, are we doing a live Band or going with a DJ?

Bennie, how much did you say catering would be? Is this something we can all pitch in to fix and just have friends of the family serve?

I want to create some desserts for this event. I will post pics of the suggestions later.
